so i'll be the first to admit that i suck at remembering the camera. i am hoping that through this blog i get better at taking pictures and remembering to take the camera places so that i can take pictures! that being said, i forgot the camera today...
this morning my boys (mike and gavin) left to go and do some christmas shoppping so ryann and i turned up the christmas music and wrapped presents. it was nice to have some time to just enjoy her! mike and gavin had a great time also, their adventures took them to lowe's, one of gavin's favorite stores! he was able to run around and touch all of the snow blowers! after nap, gavin and i went to his first "friend" birthday party. it was for a little boy at his school. it was a lot of fun for him to be able to play with school friends outside of school, and it was really fun for me to watch him interact with kids that i really don't know. i can't believe how big he is getting. i realized today when he was talking and playing with his friends that he really is a little man! my baby boy is growing up :(
for dinner tonight we decided to go to rock bottom, home of yummy beer! before dinner, we took the kids on a train ride around the mall. gavin and ryann really enjoyed looking at all of the christmas lights. it was really cold which made it really feel "christmasy' the kids did pretty good through dinner, not something we try often, but they did good. when we were walking out of the resturant we ran into santa...if you could have seen gavin's eyes light up at that moment! he took time to sit down with the kids, ask gavin what he wanted for christmas and play with him a little bit. gavin loved the attention, he promised he would be good and santa promised to bring him something special! ryann wasn't so sure about santa. she didn't cry but didn't run into his arms either. she gave him a few really cute smiles when he called her "angel" and that was enough for santa to promise something special for her also!
we've had such a wonderful weekend so far. tomorrow is supposed to be a snowy day so we are looking forward to wings, pizza and football.
