my rockstar babies...

so i've decided that both of my babies are going to be "rockstars" gavin loves music, especially playing it. his favorite is the electric guitar, although he does enjoy the drums, keyboard and accoustic guitar as well. making music seems to be his new passion as he does it all the time, 9 days out of 10 mommy is popping the excedrine but i am so happy that he is into something that he really enjoys!!

ryann on the other hand is just a diva!!! she is sassy and cute, the only two things she needs to be her own personal rockstar...when i found out i was having a girl i immediately bought her some vans along with a checkered skull bib. i was definatley having a tomboy. she has a very different idea of what she wants to be. she is a GIRLY-GIRL!!!!! she is into purses, sparkely shoes and dresses, everything has to be beautiful and she loves having her hair done...i'm in so much trouble. here is the proof!!!

gavin's 4!!!

gavin is 4 now! can you believe it, i have a 4 year old. it seems impossible to me! for gav's birthday we had a fire truck party. i made a fire truck cake, and we even went to the fire station to take a tour and play in the trucks. we had such a good time, it was everything we could have wanted for gavin and more. the smile on his face and the excitment in his voice was enough to melt me to mush! here are a few pictures from the big day!

Daddy Visit

the kids and i flew out here to orange county, california to spend some much needed time with daddy!!
so far we have had a blast! our first night here we went to sushi with ty, mike's friend and co-worker. dinner was a success. the food was wonderful, the sake and beer was even better, and the company was fun! yesterday we took the kids to disneyland.
gavin had the time of his life! he received a birthday button letting everyone in the park know it was his birthday. he grew very fond of being told happy birthday at every turn! we loved the park, both kids did fantastic and the park was not crowded making it easy to ride all of the rides! gavin's favorite was "the pirates of the caribbean" while ryann's was "it's a small world". gavin was even tall enough to go on his very first rollercoaster, big thunder mountain. it wasn't his favorite, but when he woke up this morning he asked if he could go on it again! it was everything mike and i had hoped for our little man!

so much to catch up on...

i know, i know...it's been forever!

let's start with christmas. it was wonderful! the hill family came out for a two week visit and we all had a blast. the kids love seeing their cousins and of course, we enjoyed the company of eric and katie! christmas itself was busy!!! gavin had a little tummy bug and wasn't as excited and mike and i had hoped. it was only because he was sick, now he won't put his new toys down! ryann had so much fun riping wrapping paper and then running it to the trash, we still think that we should just wrap empty boxes as opposed to buying presents!!! we had an amazing turkey dinner and then it was off to the airport to pick up cheri and drake. christmas night was fun, watching the kiddos open their presents from each other.

the next day cheri, drake, the kids and i boarded a plane and headed to mt. home, arkansas to spend a week with our parents/grandparents! we had a blast. gavin probably had the most fun as grandpa let him use and play with any tool that he wished. he was also able to help grandpa drive his truck in the backyard...now he tells me that he is an adult and that he is old enough to drive! all of the kids had fun feeding the deer and then watching them come into the yard at dusk. we enjoyed family dinners, movies and lots of playtime!

now that the holidays are over, we are getting back into our everyday grind. gavin is still loving school! he has had so much fun playing with the train set that grandma and grandpa gave him, he will sit for hours and build the tracks then watch the train go around and around! he has also transitioned into his own room at night. it only took about 2 nights and he has done great ever since! ryann is growing as fast as ever. she is now running everywhere and talking non-stop. she is at such a fun age right now and i am enjoying every minute that i am with her!

more christmas crafts and baking

yesterday gen and skylar came over for our chrismtas gift exchange. gavin and skylar had so much fun playing together! they also both enjoyed their new gifts. ryann tried to play with them but she didn't quite fit in as she is the "little sister"







rachele also came over last night. we gave her, her presents and had a blast with her...here are a few pictures of the kids with her



we made cupcakes today for gavin's class party tomorrow. gavin decided he wanted green cupcakes so they are a little funny looking, but they are going to taste good! after the cupcakes were made gavin got to lick the beaters...it's his favorite part of baking!






today we finished making our ornaments. we had so much fun painting and putting glitter on them. ryann enjoyed painting also! you can tell by the paint on her face!!!
